Job summary

Unilever is recruiting for a Site Engineering Manager in Boksburg, reporting to the Sourcing Unit Director. The role oversees engineering projects, maintenance, utilities, production lines, and buildings to improve factory performance and reliability.

You will manage spares, assets, and services while leading a team to deliver projects, innovation, and infrastructure improvements. The position emphasizes sustainability, energy efficiency, and compliance, with a focus on safety and reliability

Qualifications

• BSc Engineering Degree (Mechanical or Electrical).
• GCC — essential.
• 8-10 years' experience across engineering roles.
• 3-5 years in FMCG/manufacturing operations.
• Engineering experience in FMCG Supply Chain (Planning, Customer Service, Logistics, Process).
• Proficient leadership and management across large teams, stakeholders and contractors.
• Led projects end-to-end including design, budget creation and execution.
• Experience with digital maintenance systems and analytics is advantageous.
• Experience leading sustainability and decarbonisation projects is advantageous.
• Experience in engineering governance and regulatory compliance is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical and maintenance teams delivering Projects, Innovation, Infrastructure and Services.
• Lead on-site innovation implementation and technology selections; support regional network.
• Develop product, process and packaging expertise relevant to assets.
• Implement TPM principles and energy efficiency & sustainability initiatives.
• Coach and develop the engineering team across maintenance and project domains.
