Placements24 is seeking a Site Engineer with a strong civil construction background to manage projects in the Queenstown area and surroundings in the Eastern Cape. You will oversee technical aspects, ensure quality, and coordinate site activities with the site manager, subcontractors, and skilled labor.

The ideal candidate has at least 4 years of experience, can read drawings, and is committed to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience as Site Engineer in civil construction.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and plans.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and QC procedures.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations on SA construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist Site Manager in planning and executing daily site operations.
• Ensure construction activities comply with designs, specs and quality standards.
• Supervise subcontractors and direct labor on site.
• Perform setting out, levelling and quality control checks.
• Monitor material usage and equipment utilization for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Site Engineer, preferably in civil construction projects.
• Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction plans.
• Solid understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and quality control procedures.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations on construction sites in South Africa .
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Degree or National Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field.
