Job summary

Hire Resolve's client in Gauteng is seeking an experienced Site Electrical Engineer to manage and maintain electrical infrastructure and MV systems in a heavy industrial mining setting.

You will ensure OHSA compliance, oversee micro-grid operations, and drive energy efficiency while leading a team of engineers. A relevant Electrical Engineering degree with GCC Factories and trade testing is required, plus 5+ years of MV experience.

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering is required.
• GCC Factories certification and Electrical Trade Test are required.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in medium voltage switching, reticulation, protection, distribution and micro-grid operations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure OHSA compliance for machinery and electrical infrastructure.
• Manage and maintain medium voltage installations, including micro-grid systems.
• Oversee site utilities (electricity, gas, water) and coordinate supplier engagement.
• Provide technical input for capital projects and reporting to management.
• Lead, mentor and develop engineering personnel on site.
• Promote SHEQ compliance and maintain electrical infrastructure.

Hire Resolve's Client is currently looking for an experienced Site Electrical Engineer to join their mining company based in Gauteng. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining electrical infrastructure, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient operation of medium voltage systems, utilities and related engineering assets.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with OHSA and applicable regulations relating to machinery and electrical infrastructure.
• Manage and maintain medium voltage electrical installations, including micro-grid systems.
• Ensure plant and machinery comply with applicable engineering standards and specifications.
• Provide technical input and support for capital projects.
• Oversee site utilities, including electricity, gas and water.
• Monitor utility performance and coordinate reporting and supplier engagement.
• Drive energy efficiency and resource efficiency initiatives.
• Support internal and external audits relating to engineering and machinery maintenance.
• Compile and present technical and operational reports to management and statutory authorities.
• Lead, develop and mentor engineering personnel.
• Ensure effective maintenance and management of electrical infrastructure.
• Promote compliance with SHEQ requirements and applicable standards.

Requirements

• Grade 12
• Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering
• GCC Factories
• Electrical Trade Test Certificate
• Minimum 5 years' practical experience in medium voltage switching, reticulation systems,electrical protection systems, distribution, and system design, including Micro-grid operations, configuration, and networking
• Hands-on experience performing or authorising 11 kV switching
• Experience in electrical maintenance within a heavy industrial plant
• Valid Driver's License
