The Key Purpose of this role is to ensure that are vehicles are shuntered into the warehouse to be off-loaded and loaded on time as per loading schedule, adhering to safety standards.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Adherence to Safety procedures:

  • Lock out procedures
  • Man, vs machine segregation
  • Safe driving and parking
  • Safe Hitching and unhitching
  • Shipment loaded safely and secured prior to moving vehicle to and from warehouse
  • Checks trucks and trailers as per vehicle check list, including oil and water levels and records any damages, and faults and reports such findings

Operational requirements:

  • Correct vehicle combination loaded as per load plan
  • Vehicles unloaded and loaded on time as per load schedule
  • Ensure that vehicle and trailer decks are clean
  • Product quality checks conducted on loaded shipment
  • Ensure that vehicle is staged in allocated parking bay prior to departure

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 with appropriate license to drive Heavy Duty vehicle
  • Excellent driving skills with good eyesight
  • Numeracy skills
  • Communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to use electronic equipment
