Job summary

Greys Recruitment is seeking a Shift Supervisor for a fast-paced printing and manufacturing environment in eThekwini Central (Durban / Pinetown / Umlazi), South Africa. The role focuses on leading shift operations, managing production teams, and consistently achieving quality, output, and production targets.

Ideal candidates will have extensive supervisory experience within the Printing Industry, strong leadership, and the ability to manage materials, consumables and production planning.

Qualifications

• Five plus years of supervisory/management experience in the Printing Industry.
• Experience supervising production teams, materials, and consumables.
• Strong understanding of production planning, quality, OEE, and machine uptime.
• Computer literate with ability to work with production figures.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Printing Industry experience is essential.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage production teams during the shift.
• Ensure production targets, quality standards and schedules are achieved.
• Monitor machine performance, downtime and OEE.
• Manage materials, consumables and WIP.
• Ensure machinery maintenance and breakdowns are followed up.
• Maintain staff discipline, attendance and utilisation.
• Ensure health & safety and quality procedures are followed.
• Complete shift handovers and communicate production priorities.

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Shift Supervisor to join a fast-paced printing and manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading shift operations, managing production teams and ensuring that quality, output and production targets are consistently achieved. Candidates must have proven supervisory experience within the Printing Industry.

• Grade 12


• 5+ years’ supervisory/management experience within the Printing Industry


• Strong experience in a large-scale printing/manufacturing environment


• Experience managing production teams, materials and consumables


• Strong understanding of production planning, quality, OEE and machine uptime


• Computer literate and comfortable working with production figures


• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills


• Printing Industry experience is essential

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage production teams during the shift.
