Job Title

Production Operator

Report To:

Production Controller

Purpose:

The production operator is required to work across all machines in the production environment and to maintain standard operating procedures to ensure optimal output is achieved and the required quality is produced on every order

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Implementing all standard operating procedures adopted by the company.
• Meet the minimum output target requirements as set out by standard operating procedures.
• Ensure quality standards are adhered to as per guidelines in standard operating procedures.
• Implement daily machine maintenance checks to ensure the machine is in optimal state.
• Conduct Daily machine maintenance procedures which include changing of blades, lubricating, checking airlines etc as per directive given by the production supervisor.
• Maintaining a safe, clean production environment as per guidelines in standard operating procedures.
• Produce orders as per daily schedule provided.
• Complete all necessary paperwork as per order requirement including job cards, machine logbooks and incident reports.
• Ensure all orders are produced in full by ensuring each size ie verified against the cutting list.
• Pack orders on trolleys or cover boards after each production cycle to ensure all parts are allocated for and no damages occur.
• Completing machine logbooks and online tracking system accurately at each production cycle.
• Ensure all orders are cleaned and glue lines removed before handing over to Quality Control.
• Drill potholes correctly maintaining the correct distance from the edge of the board.
• STOP production when any quality or machine issues arise and notify line manager immediately.
• Ensure all components are labelled.
• Ensuring square on all components are maintained.
• Marking off cuts on orders and giving these offcuts back to the customer.
• Assist with dispatching orders to customers when directed by the production supervisor.

• Numeracy and literacy are key skills for this position
• Write, read and speak in English

Education and Qualification:

• Grade 12 Qualification or equivalent
