Job summary

Together Staffing group is seeking a qualified Shift Supervisor for a mining operation in Rustenburg. The role focuses on supervising and coaching mining crews to meet production targets while ensuring safety and compliance.

Responsibilities include planning, resource management and adherence to health and safety practices. A solid blasting certificate and a valid Shift Supervisor certificate are essential, as well as relevant experience in mining operations.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent is required.
• Blasting Certificate and Shift Supervisor Certification are required.
• 3–5 years’ experience as Production Shift Supervisor for external candidates, or 5+ years as Production Miner for internal candidates.
• Basic computer literacy is essential; medical fitness certificate is preferred.

• Supervise, discipline, guide, motivate and develop mining personnel.

• Complete and submit required administrative documentation accurately and on time.
• Maintain effective two-way communication within the department.
• Communicate policies, procedures, health and safety requirements and daily operations.
• Promote safe and efficient mining, blasting and rock-breaking practices.
• Maintain standards relating to underground support, ventilation and Falls of Ground prevention.

• Maintain effective two-way communication within the department.
• Communicate policies, procedures, health and safety requirements and daily operational arrangements.
• Promote safe and efficient mining, blasting and rock-breaking practices.
• Maintain appropriate standards relating to underground support, ventilation and Falls of Ground (FOG) prevention.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent.
• Blasting Certificate.
• Shift Supervisor Certificate.
• 3–5 years’ experience as a Production Shift Supervisor for external candidates, or at least 5 years’ experience as a Production Miner with a clean record for internal candidates.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Valid medical certificate or medically fit to obtain one.
