The Weir Group in Port Elizabeth is seeking an Engineer Shift Leader to oversee the maintenance team and drive reliable operations. You will plan, schedule and supervise preventive maintenance activities to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or equivalent.
• Trade certificate is advantageous/required.
• 3–5 years of relevant foundry or manufacturing experience.
• Supervisory/management experience required.
• Knowledge of Preventive & Predictive maintenance principles.
• SHE knowledge and experience.
• Computer literacy and maintenance management systems experience advantageous.
• HT electrical knowledge training & experience advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Lead and coordinate the maintenance team to plan, schedule, and execute maintenance activities.
• Drive preventive maintenance programs and manage equipment schedules to reduce downtime.
• Ensure compliance with OSHACT, SANS 10142 and safety standards; support training and site operations.
• Collaborate with other departments to address maintenance needs and provide operational support.
• Uphold zero-harm safety culture and promote safe working practices on site.

You’ll work with purpose, learn every day and help shape a more sustainable future.**What you’ll do*** **Team Leadership:** Manage the entire maintenance team, overseeing daily operations to ensure efficient planning, repairs, and maintenance activities. Success means a well-coordinated team delivering high-quality maintenance with minimal downtime.* **Maintenance Management:** Lead preventive maintenance programs, manage equipment schedules, and ensure critical spares availability to maintain operational excellence. Daily tasks include monitoring maintenance workflows and troubleshooting issues.* **Compliance and Safety:** Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHACT, SANS 10142, and company safety standards.
