Job summary

Weir Minerals in Western Cape seeks a skilled technician to join the on-site service team. You will perform refurbishment of pumps and equipment to OEM standards, conduct service visits, troubleshoot, and maintain client sites with a strong safety culture.

Must have a Matric/Grade 12 or N3, be a Qualified Artisan (Fitter or Millwright), hold a valid driver’s license, and be proficient in Microsoft Office. An N4 in Mechanical Engineering is a nice-to-have.

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12 or N3 qualification (with Physical/Engineering Science & Mathematics).
• Qualified Artisan (Fitter or Millwright).
• Valid Driver’s license.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.
• Equipment Refurbishment: Perform refurbishment of pumps and all other Weir equipment to OEM standards, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
• On-site Service: Conduct service-related duties on client sites, including repair services of pump units, daily troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.
• Customer Communication: Inform customers of any faults or damages on pumps, advising on necessary corrective steps to resolve issues effectively.
• Business Growth: Identify opportunities on site and liaise with the Field Service Supervisor to support business growth and customer satisfaction.
• Maintenance Execution: Perform prescriptive-based maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
