Job summary

Weir is seeking a Field Service Technician to operate onsite at client sites in the Western Cape. You will refurbish pumps to OEM standards, perform on-site service and maintenance, and communicate issues to customers to ensure issues are resolved efficiently.

The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and collaboration with the Field Service Supervisor to grow business and support customer satisfaction. Relevant qualifications and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12 or N3 with Physical/Engineering Science and Mathematics is required.
• Qualified Artisan (Fitter or Millwright) is essential.
• Valid Driver’s license is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety first with zero-harm mindset on client sites.
• Refurbish pumps and Weir equipment to OEM standards for high-quality service.
• Perform on-site service, including pump repairs, troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Communicate faults or damages to customers and advise corrective actions.
• Identify on-site opportunities and liaise with Field Service Supervisor to support business growth.
• Carry out prescriptive-based maintenance to improve equipment reliability.

What you’ll do

• Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.
• Equipment Refurbishment: Perform refurbishment of pumps and all other Weir equipment to OEM standards, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
• On-site Service: Conduct service-related duties on client sites, including repair services of pump units, daily troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.
• Customer Communication: Inform customers of any faults or damages on pumps, advising on necessary corrective steps to resolve issues effectively.
• Business Growth: Identify opportunities on site and liaise with the Field Service Supervisor to support business growth and customer satisfaction.
• Maintenance Execution: Perform prescriptive-based maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

What you’ll bring

Must-haves:
