Job summary

The Recruitment Pig is seeking a skilled CNC programmer for a high-tech metal fabrication environment. You will create and optimize sheet metal cutting programs, prepare tooling sheets, and ensure smooth machine operation.

You will work with Amada AP100 and VPSS, read engineering drawings, process CAD files, and apply smart nesting to minimize scrap while collaborating with shop floor staff to keep production on track.

Qualifications

• Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Hands-on programming experience with Amada laser, turret punch, and combo CNC machines.
• Ability to optimize sheet metal cutting using CAD/CAM data.
• Familiarity with DXF/DWG/STEP CAD formats and file preparation.
• Strong attention to detail under tight production schedules.
• Team player with positive attitude and eagerness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Create and optimize sheet metal cutting programs using Amada AP100 and VPSS.
• Prepare tooling sheets and cutting paths for lasers, punches, and combos.
• Arrange punch-before-laser sequences and ensure safe tooling clearance zones.
• Clean and prepare incoming customer CAD files in DXF, DWG, STEP formats.
• Apply nesting techniques to minimize scrap and maximize yields.
• Collaborate with shop floor operators to resolve issues and keep machines running.
• Keep digital tooling libraries updated to reflect actual tools on the floor.
