Job summary

Hire Resolve's client, a South African plastics specialist, seeks a Setter to join the team in Philippi, Western Cape. The role focuses on setting production equipment, mould installation, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

You will analyze drawings, report issues, and coordinate with Maintenance and Production Managers to schedule maintenance and ensure timely task completion.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ relevant setting experience.
• Sound understanding of drawings.
• Sound knowledge on H&S and safe working procedures.

Responsibilities

• Identify, report and rectify technical areas of concern on assigned production equipment.
• Understand product quality criteria and related processes (injection moulding, blow moulding).
• Mould installation and interpretation of drawings, components and spare parts.
• Liaise with Maintenance Manager and Production Manager to ensure machine availability and plan maintenance.
• Provide completion dates and fulfill tasks requested by supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Identify, report and rectify all technical areas of concern on assigned
• production equipment (machines, moulds, etc.)
• Have an in-depth understanding of
• Product and its quality criteria
• Process (material feeding and drying, injection moulding, reheat stretch
• blow moulding and injection blow moulding)
• General knowledge of all equipment, detailed for assigned equipment
• Mould installation
• Technical principles and drawings (e.g. assemblies and spare part
• finding, pneumatic, hydraulic, electric)
• Liaise with Maintenance Manager & Production Manager (in charge) to ensure
  machine availability vs. major maintenance intervals
• Have an overview what needs to be done and report to Maintenance Manager
  & Production Manager
• Give completion dates and fulfill tasks required by Maintenance Manager &
  Production Manager

Requirements

• 5 years’ relevant setting experience
• Minimum N2 in Tool, Jig & Die trade theory and trade
  tested (red seal), preferable
• Sound understanding of drawings
• Sound knowledge on H&S and safe
  working procedures
