Job summary

Department of Health in Gauteng is seeking a registered audiologist or speech-language pathologist with HPCSA 2026 registration to conduct adult and paediatric audiological procedures and participate in clinical research.

• Package : Grade 1 R273.00 per hour; Grade 2 R273.00.00 per hour; Grade 3 R373.00.00 per hour

Requirements :

• National Senior Certificate/Matric grade 12 plus Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA in Audiology or Speech Therapy & Audiology, registration with HPCSA. Current registration with HPCSA for 2026. Must have completed community service. No experience required. Competencies/KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS: Knowledge and skill in adult and paediatric hearing screening, diagnostic hearing assessments and hearing aid fittings. Preference will be given to those applicants who have experience with vestibular and electrophysiology assessments. Ability to work as a team, planning, organizing, coordinating, and communication skills. Ability to engage in solution-based problem solving. Display empathy for patients, promote advocacy and facilitate holistic treatment. The ability to work under pressure, lead transformational change in a complex environment and the ability to manage change in the department. The successful candidate must be adaptable, disciplined, and self-confident. The candidate must be able to work independently and under pressure and beyond normal working hours and work with diverse team. Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.

Duties :

• To conduct adult and paediatric audiological procedures in accordance with best practice guidelines and engage in clinical research. To ensure that clinical resources are maintained according to protocols, which includes biological checks and reporting of faults.
