Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide psycho-social and Mental Health services to patients and families.
• Psycho-social assessment and screening of patients and families.
• Home visits and counseling; casework, group work and multidisciplinary team participation.
• Assist with court referrals and student training; report writing and record keeping.
• Ensure privacy and confidentiality; support program administration and development.

• Package : R223 Grade 1 (Less than 10 years relevant experience) R273 Grade 2 (At least 10 years, but less than 20 years relevant experience) R328 Grade 3 ( At least 20 years, but less than 30 years relevant experience) R402 Grade 4 (30, and more relevant experience)

Requirements :

• National Senior Certificate/Matric grade 12 plus a recognized bachelor’s degree in social work. Registration with the South African Council for Social Services Professions (SACSSP) as a social worker. Interest in the field of Mental Health. Knowledge of appropriate policies, guidelines and legislation. Good communication skills, decision making skills, problem solving, negotiate, counsel, basic computer literacy. Provide Psychosocial services to patients. Knowledge to deal with patients challenges and process the referral and placement to appropriate disciplines and facilities. Flexible to assist in demand areas. Must be willing to undergo medical assessment

Duties :

• Provide Psycho-social and Mental Health services to patients, families and community. Psycho-social Assessment/ Screening of patients. families in regards to their circumstance. Home visits. Intervention, Counsel, debrief through casework, group work. Function as a member of the multi professional team. Assist with court referrals. Assist with student training. Engage in continuous professional development and in service training. Compile reports and comprehensive record keeping. Perform administrative tasks of the program and the department. Compliance to Privacy and Confidentiality. Involve multidisciplinary team where necessary. Establish and facilitate different sport codes within legal framework, Lower Presenteeism and Absenteeism. Conduct training, counseling, Debriefing, and Program marketing. Provide consultation, and involve appropriate disciplines including patient health and productivity programs, Nutritional, Occupational Therapy and not limited to other stakeholders. Comply with the Performance Management and Development System (Contracting, reviews and final assessment).
