Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide mental health services to ensure capacity for screening, referral, and care in a regional hospital.
• Build capacity for self-help and peer-led services, such as support groups.
• Promote mental health and prevention interventions aligned with national and provincial priorities.
• Conduct routine screening for mental illnesses across the developmental lifespan.
• Provide brief interventions, supportive counselling, debriefing, individual and group counselling.
• Adhere to HPCSA standards and departmental policies.
• Provide support, guidance, and mentoring to Registered Counsellors.
• Coordinate and allocate duties to Registered Counsellors.
• Facilitate mental health support groups.
