Job summary

Staffing-Jet is seeking a Service Technician – Drives & Control to join our technical team in Rustenburg. You will diagnose, repair and test VSDs and Soft Starters, support customers and sales teams, and participate in on-site commissioning and fault resolution.

You will read electrical schematics, prepare technical reports and ensure ISO-compliant documentation while providing 24/7 support where required. A strong fault-finding ability and valid driver's license are essential.

Qualifications

• Matric is required.
• Electrical/Technical qualification with N5 / T3 / S3 / S4 Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Are you a VSD & Soft Starter specialist who thrives on solving complex technical problems? My client is looking for an experienced Service Technician – Drives & Control to join their team and become a key technical resource supporting customers, branches and sales engineers. You’ll be hands‑on with drives, soft starters, repairs, warranties, commissioning, breakdowns and customer support, with opportunities to work on‑site and across borders.

Duties:

• Diagnosing, repairing and testing VSDs & Soft Starters
• Managing Goods Returned Notes (GRNs) and warranty processes
• Preparing technical repair and warranty reports
• Providing 24-hour technical support to customers and sales teams
• Conducting on‑site technical support and troubleshooting
• Commissioning and testing drives, soft starters and panels
• Attending breakdowns and commissioning projects
• Reading and drawing electrical schematic diagrams
• Providing internal sales and quotation support
• Conducting site meetings and technical presentations
• Supporting drives spares stock control and warehousing
• Maintaining technical product files and ISO requirements
• Preparing monthly technical reports

Requirements:

• Matric
• Electrical/Technical qualification with N5 / T3 / S3 / S4 Electrical Engineering or equivalent relevant experience
• 3+ years’ specific experience in VSD and Soft Starter service & repairs
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
• Valid driver’s license.
