Job summary

Motus GWM in Pretoria is seeking an experienced Service Foreman to lead the workshop and manage a team of qualified technicians. You will recruit, develop and review performance, ensure safety, compliance and high-quality repairs, and drive efficient shop operations.

You will coordinate technician workloads, monitor progress, support warranty processes, and maintain customer satisfaction through timely follow-ups and professional service delivery.

Qualifications

• Qualified Technician with relevant trade certification.
• Must have workshop Foreman experience.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire and motivate qualified Service Technicians.
• Assist technicians in developing their skills.
• Understand and comply with regulations affecting service operations (OHSA/Right-to-Know).
• Ensure compliance with warranty and policy procedures.
• Ensure all department staff receive manufacturer training.
• Conduct regular performance reviews for technicians per dealership guidelines.
• Assign repairs to technicians in a fair manner.
• Provide technical support for technicians when needed.
• Ensure repairs are charged correctly.
• Track progress of each repair order daily.
• Maintain high-quality repairs and minimize comebacks; perform spot checks.
• Road test vehicles to quality-check work performed.
• Account for all documents and ensure proper processing.
• Establish and maintain customer follow-up programs for satisfaction.
• Handle customer complaints within 24 hours and inform managers as appropriate.
• Manage department performance with tools like DOC, efficiency, and forecast reports.
• Monitor technicians' daily productivity and payroll records.
• Monitor shop conditions, safety, cleanliness, and equipment, reporting issues.
• Ensure proper care and storage of special tools.
• Stay updated on new equipment and tools and recommend purchases.
• Fill in for service advisor and dispatcher when needed.
• Attend manager meetings as requested.
• Strive for harmony and teamwork across departments.
• Maintain a safe work environment and professional appearance.
• Other tasks as assigned.
