Responsibilities

• Supervise, mentor, and manage a team of wind turbine technicians, ensuring safe execution of all tasks.
• Oversee routine maintenance, inspection, and repair of wind turbines, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with manufacturer specifications, company standards, and safety protocols.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex turbine performance issues and implement corrective actions.
• Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate material requirements for maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and promote on-site safety culture.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and performance data using CMMS.
• Coordinate with site management and engineering teams on turbine upgrades and performance improvements.
• Provide technical training and support to team members to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Respond to turbine alarms and emergencies as required.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Technical qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering or a related trade qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a wind turbine technician, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity.
• Proven expertise in the maintenance and repair of various wind turbine models and their associated systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, with excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with SCADA systems and CMMS software.
• Knowledge of safety procedures for working at heights and with high‑voltage equipment.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and manage workload efficiently.
• Valid driver's license.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to call‑outs as needed in the Vereeniging area.
