Qualifications

About the Role

Our client, a major developer and operator of wind energy facilities, is actively recruiting a dedicated Remote Wind Turbine Technician Supervisor. This position is designed for an experienced leader who can oversee and manage a team of wind turbine technicians remotely, ensuring the optimal performance and maintenance of wind farms. While the role is remote, it requires a hands‑on understanding of wind turbine technology and maintenance procedures. You will be responsible for coordinating maintenance schedules, troubleshooting technical issues, ensuring safety compliance, and driving operational efficiency across multiple sites. Key Responsibilities

Provide remote supervision and technical guidance to a team of wind turbine technicians across various operational sites. Develop and implement preventative and corrective maintenance strategies to maximize turbine uptime and energy production. Manage work schedules, assign tasks, and ensure efficient allocation of resources for maintenance activities. Monitor turbine performance data and diagnostic reports to identify potential issues and proactively address them. Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies by the field teams. Conduct remote troubleshooting sessions and provide expert advice to resolve complex technical challenges. Oversee inventory management for spare parts and consumables, ensuring timely replenishment. Prepare regular performance reports, incident analyses, and maintenance summaries for management. Facilitate training and development for technicians to enhance their skills and certifications. Act as a key liaison between the field teams and the operations management.

Requirements

A National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. A minimum of 6 years of experience in the wind energy sector, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Comprehensive knowledge of wind turbine systems, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components. Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues remotely. Strong understanding of wind farm operations, maintenance procedures, and safety standards (e.g., GWO certifications). Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a remote team. Proficiency in using SCADA systems, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems), and other relevant software. Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals. Must possess strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a remote setting.
