Placements24 is partnering with a visionary startup in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, seeking a Senior Blockchain Engineer to design, develop, and deploy blockchain infrastructure and dApps in a fully remote role. You will work on smart contracts, core blockchain components, and Web3 integrations, with opportunities to influence product roadmap and security practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience, with 3+ years in blockchain/Web3.
• Proficiency in Solidity, Rust or Go.
• Experience with blockchain frameworks (Hardhat, Truffle, Brownie).
• Strong understanding of consensus, cryptography and distributed ledgers.
• Experience building and deploying dApps.
• Familiarity with React or Vue.js and Web3 libraries (ethers.js, web3.js).
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy secure and scalable smart contracts.
• Build and maintain decentralized applications (dApps).
• Contribute to architecture and roadmap of core blockchain products.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to implement features.
• Write high-quality, well-documented, and tested code.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor teammates.
• Troubleshoot and debug blockchain stack issues.
• Research and evaluate new blockchain technologies and protocols.
• Ensure security and performance of deployed solutions.
• Engage with the Web3 community and open-source projects where applicable.
