Job summary

Shift Pursuit is seeking a Professional Civil Engineer in South Africa with strong municipal water and wastewater project experience to lead from feasibility through to commissioning.

The role requires BEng/BSc/BTech in Civil Engineering, ECSA PrEng/PrTechEng registration, and preferably 10+ years’ related experience. A valid driver’s licence and travel willingness are expected, with knowledge of civil design software.

Qualifications

• BEng, BSc or BTech in Civil Engineering, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• ECSA registration as a PrEng or PrTechEng.
• Willingness to travel when required.
• Working knowledge of relevant civil engineering design and modelling software.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of water and wastewater projects.
• Develop engineering solutions from feasibility through to detailed design and implementation.
• Coordinate civil, hydraulic, process, mechanical and electrical engineering inputs.
• Manage relationships with clients, municipalities, contractors and other stakeholders.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor construction progress.
• Assist with contract administration, commissioning and project close-out.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
