Job summary

Boardroom Appointments seeks a senior civil engineer to lead the design and development of bulk water supply systems and sewer networks in Gauteng. You will oversee feasibility studies, prepare cost estimates, and develop technical specifications while coordinating across disciplines.

With at least 10 years' experience and professional registration (PrEng/PrTechEng) or equivalent, you will mentor teams, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with international standards.

Qualifications

• BSc. Eng. or equivalent required with professional registration.
• Masters degree an added advantage.
• Experience in bulk water and sewer project design and implementation.
• Report writing and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of bulk water supply systems, including pipelines, pumping stations, and reservoirs.
• Lead design and development of sewer systems including rising mains and WWTW (Wastewater Treatment Works).
• Develop feasibility studies, cost estimates, and technical specifications.
• Coordinate design of water and sewer infrastructure with other disciplines.
• Oversee planning and execution of bulk water and sewer projects from inception to completion.
• Provide leadership and manage the team, including mentorship.
• Perform financial planning and management.
• Manage risk and contracts.
• Ensure compliance with relevant national and international standards and regulations (e.g., environmental health and safety).
• Engage in integrated water resources management.
