Job summary

Placements24 in South Africa seeks a dedicated Civil Engineer specializing in Water Resource Management to join a national network, focusing on the Free State province. The role is fully remote, supporting planning, design and implementation of water infrastructure across the region.

Candidates should hold a Master's degree in Civil Engineering with Water Resources or Environmental Eng, have at least 7 years' experience, and be Pr Eng registered with ECSA.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering with Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years' experience in design and management of water/wastewater projects.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is essential.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling (EPANET/HEC-RAS) and CAD tools.
• Experience in SA water resource planning.
• Able to work remotely within a national network.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop water infrastructure projects (reservoirs, treatment plants, pump stations, networks).
• Conduct hydrological studies and EIAs for water resource projects.
• Prepare detailed designs, specs and cost estimates.
• Manage project execution from feasibility to commissioning, ensuring standards.
• Collaborate with government bodies, environmental agencies and communities.
• Oversee construction activities via remote supervision and site visits.
