Qualifications

• A strong portfolio showing environment art and world-building with high realism and detail.
• Proficiency in Maya, 3ds Max, Houdini, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Photoshop, and Unreal Engine or Unity.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality digital environments for film and television, including landscapes, cityscapes, interiors, and extraterrestrial settings.
• Develop and refine environment assets: modeling, sculpting, texturing, and set dressing.
• Implement realistic lighting and rendering to achieve photorealism.
• Collaborate with the Art Director, VFX Supervisor, and other artists to define look and feel of environments.
• Ensure seamless integration of digital environments with live-action footage and CG elements.
• Optimize environment assets for performance within the production pipeline.
• Stay current with industry trends and software advancements in environment art and VFX.
• Provide technical and artistic guidance to junior environment artists.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to environment creation.

Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of professional experience as a VFX Artist, with a specialization in environment creation for film or high-end television.
• A strong portfolio showcasing exceptional environment art and world-building skills, demonstrating a high level of realism and artistic detail.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Maya, 3ds Max, Houdini, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Photoshop, and Unreal Engine or Unity.
• Expertise in texturing, look development, and lighting for complex environments.
• A solid understanding of cinematography, composition, and color theory as applied to environmental design.
• Experience with procedural generation techniques and asset management systems is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team setting.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Graphics, Fine Arts, or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated professional experience.
• Must be comfortable working in a fully remote capacity.
