Placements24 is partnering with a growing mobile gaming studio in Mahikeng, North West, to hire a Senior UX/UI Designer. You will shape visual design and interaction flows for mobile games, ensuring intuitive, engaging experiences across iOS and Android.

We seek a portfolio-rich designer with 5+ years in mobile UX/UI, strong user-centered design skills, and proficiency in Figma, Sketch and Adobe XD. You will collaborate with game designers, developers, and product managers in a hybrid work

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in UX/UI design for mobile apps.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating mobile app design and UX strategy.
• Proficiency in Figma, Sketch, and Adobe XD.
• Deep understanding of user-centered design and accessibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of user interfaces and user experiences for mobile applications, focusing on intuitive navigation and engaging interactions.
• Create wireframes, user flows, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups.
• Conduct user research, usability testing, and A/B testing to gather insights and validate design decisions.
• Develop and maintain a consistent visual style and brand identity for mobile applications.
• Collaborate with game designers and developers to ensure seamless integration of UI elements and gameplay mechanics.
• Optimize designs for various mobile platforms and screen sizes.
• Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders, incorporating feedback effectively.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in UX/UI design, with a significant focus on mobile applications (iOS and Android).
• A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional mobile app design work, including visual design, prototyping, and UX strategy.
• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
• Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, mobile interaction design, and usability best practices.
• Experience conducting user research and usability testing.
• Familiarity with game design principles and mechanics is a plus.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, iterative development environment.
• Understanding of mobile platform guidelines (Apple HIG, Material Design).
• Familiarity with the Mahikeng area or a willingness to relocate is preferred.
