Qualifications

Master's degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, or a related field.
Minimum of 9 years of experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
In-depth knowledge of South African planning legislation, policies, and environmental frameworks.
Proficiency in GIS software and other planning-related digital tools.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proven ability to manage complex planning projects and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead the development and implementation of urban planning strategies and policies.
Prepare master plans, zoning regulations, and development guidelines for diverse urban areas.
Conduct spatial analysis, feasibility studies, and environmental impact assessments for proposed developments.
Facilitate community engagement and consultation processes, presenting planning proposals to stakeholders.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and developers to ensure integrated and sustainable urban design outcomes.
Manage and mentor a team of urban planning professionals, overseeing project delivery and professional development.
