Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Urban Designer to lead transformative urban development projects in Stellenbosch. You will guide master planning from concept to implementation, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to craft vibrant public spaces.

The role requires a master's degree and 8+ years in urban design, with strong GIS/CAD and visualization skills. You will engage diverse stakeholders and translate visions into actionable design frameworks.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Urban Design, Urban Planning, or a related field.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in urban design and planning practice.
Proven experience in leading complex master planning projects and engaging with diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in GIS software, CAD, and graphic visualization tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp).
Strong understanding of urban policy, sustainability principles, and South African planning frameworks.

Responsibilities

Develop and lead master planning and urban design projects from concept to implementation phases.
Conduct spatial analysis, site assessments, and feasibility studies for urban development proposals.
Facilitate public consultations and stakeholder engagement processes to build consensus and gather input.
Prepare high-quality design documentation, including master plans, design guidelines, and regulatory submissions.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, landscape architects, and engineers, to ensure integrated design solutions.
