Placements24 is seeking a Senior Architectural Designer to lead urban regeneration and master planning initiatives in Rustenburg, North West. The role combines design leadership with collaborative engagement among urban planners, engineers, and community stakeholders.

You will guide complex projects from concept through completion, mentor junior staff, and contribute to business development while embracing a hybrid work model from our Rustenburg office and remote collaboration.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Architecture or Urban Design is required.
• Professional SACAP registration is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in architectural design with urban regeneration focus.
• Proven ability to lead design teams on complex urban projects from concept to completion.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino and Adobe Creative Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead design conceptualization and development for urban regeneration and mixed-use projects.
• Develop sustainable, community-engaged architectural solutions.
• Prepare high-quality design documentation: sketches, master plans, 3D models, presentations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of planners, engineers, and landscape architects.
• Engage with community groups, authorities, and clients to gather input.
• Ensure designs are contextually appropriate and address social and environmental needs.
• Oversee technical development for feasibility and constructability.
• Mentor junior designers and promote design excellence.
• Stay updated on best practices in urban design and placemaking.
• Assist in proposal preparation and client pitches.
