Our client seeks a Senior Mine Planning Engineer for underground operations in Pretoria, Gauteng. You will lead short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans, coordinating with geology and geotechnical teams to optimize layouts and schedules.

Responsibilities include feasibility studies, production optimization, and design work. Expect collaboration with senior management, and mentoring of junior engineers within a dynamic mining operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering is required.
• Master’s degree is advantageous.
• 7+ years in mine planning, with underground focus.

Responsabilités

• Develop and maintain detailed short, medium, and long-term mine plans for underground operations.
• Optimize mine layouts, production sequences, and equipment utilization to meet targets.
• Collaborate with geological and geotechnical teams to integrate models into plans.
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for mine development projects.
• Perform mine design work including stope layouts, access development, and ventilation planning.
• Utilize Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac for design and scheduling.
• Ensure safety, environmental standards, and company policies.
• Analyze production data and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare technical reports and management presentations.
• Mentor junior mine planning engineers.
