Job summary

Communicate Finance is seeking a senior traffic engineer in Gauteng to lead complex traffic and transportation projects. You will develop traffic impact assessments, design road systems and perform modelling to optimize safety and efficiency.

Join a multidisciplinary team and manage timelines while mentoring junior engineers. Ideal candidates have 8–10 years in traffic engineering, a Civil/Transportation engineering degree, and ECSA PR Eng/Technologist registration.

Qualifications

Bachelor-level degree in Civil/Transportation Engineering.
Professional registration with ECSA as PR Eng or PR Technologist.
South African residency or valid work permit.

Responsibilities

Develop and review traffic impact assessments and traffic management plans
Design and analyse road and traffic systems to optimise safety, capacity, and efficiency
Conduct traffic modelling, analysis, and demand forecasting
Prepare technical reports, drawings, and tender documentation
Provide technical input across multidisciplinary infrastructure projects
Liaise with clients, authorities, contractors and other engineering disciplines
Manage project deliverables, timelines and technical quality
Support junior engineers and contribute to team development
