Job summary

A leading plastic manufacturing company in the Western Cape is seeking a skilled Tool Maker to join their technical team. This role focuses on manufacturing, maintenance, repair and optimisation of precision tooling used in high-volume plastic production.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with plastic mould tooling, fault finding, and toolroom operations, including injection moulding or related processes.

Qualifications

• Matric required.
• Trade Test Tool, Jig and Die Maker.
• N2 in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10 years’ post-apprenticeship experience as Tool Maker.
• Experience in the manufacturing industry is mandatory.
• Residence in the Western Cape required.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture, maintain, repair and optimise precision tooling.
• Improve production efficiency and minimise downtime.
• Support injection moulding or related plastic processes.

Job description

This role is responsible for the manufacturing, maintenance, repair, and optimisation of precision tooling used in high-volume plastic production processes. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring production efficiency, minimising downtime, and maintaining high product quality standards within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal applicant will have strong technical expertise in plastic mould tooling, fault finding, and toolroom operations, with experience in injection moulding or related plastic manufacturing processes.

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric
• Trade Test Tool, Jig and Die Maker
• N2 in Mechanical Engineering
• 10 years’ experience as a qualified Tool Maker (POST APPRENTICESHIP)
• Experience within the Manufacturing industry is a MUST
• Candidates must also be residing within the Western Cape
