Acuity Consultants, a leading South Africa fintech, seeks a Senior Test Automation Engineer to own automation strategy across products. You will build scalable frameworks using Playwright and RestSharp, drive AI-assisted testing and improve high-volume payment reliability.

This hands-on role blends automation with manual testing, design reviews, and mentoring to uplift testing standards in a fast-paced payments environment.

Formación

• 5+ years’ experience in automation or quality engineering.
• Experience designing and building scalable automation frameworks.
• Strong programming skills in C#, Java, Python or similar.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright and UI/API automation.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, ideally TeamCity and Bitbucket.
• Knowledge of API, integration, contract and performance testing.
• Experience with manual and exploratory testing.
• Exposure to fintech, banking, payments or transactional systems.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong debugging, root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Experience mentoring engineers and influencing testing standards.
• Advantageous: AI-assisted testing, LLM-supported test design, k6, Allure, Datadog and test-data management.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the development of test automation frameworks and quality engineering practices across multiple products.
• Shape automation architecture and testing standards while mentoring a junior engineer.
• Introduce AI-assisted testing and optimise regression coverage across systems.
• Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines and collaborate with Engineering, Product and DevOps.
• Perform manual and exploratory testing to complement automated tests and troubleshoot issues.
• Own the automation strategy and drive modern testing practices in a high-volume payments environment.
