Placements24 seeks a Senior Telecommunications Systems Engineer to join a distributed engineering team. This fully remote role allows contribution to critical projects from anywhere in South Africa.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to guide remote teams and manage complex projects.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of core network elements, protocols (e.g., SIP, SS7,Diameter, GTP), and transmission technologies.
• Experience with software-defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV) concepts.
• Proficiency in system integration, testing, and performance analysis.
• Strong understanding of wireless technologies (4G/5G) and IP networking.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for automation is a plus.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver results under pressure.
