Placements24 seeks a Senior Telecommunications Systems Engineer in Cape Town to design, implement, and optimize complex telecom systems. You will work across mobile networks (4G/5G), fixed-line, VoIP, and security, driving performance and reliability in a fast-paced team.

The role requires 7+ years of experience, a relevant degree, and hands-on engineering skills. You will lead system analysis, configuration, and optimization while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the technology

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Telecommunications/CS or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in telecommunications systems engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of mobile network technologies (GSM/UMTS/LTE/5G NR), IP networking, and VoIP protocols.
• CCNA/CCNP or vendor-specific certifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and deploy telecommunications systems, including hardware and software components.
• Perform system integration, testing, and commissioning of new network elements and services.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies.
