Job summary

Bidvest Protea Coin is seeking a qualified security installation and service professional based in Gauteng. You will install and maintain electronic security equipment, build client relations, and ensure adherence to health and safety standards.

The role requires PSIRA certification, a valid driver’s license, and knowledge of access control and IP surveillance systems. Strong fault-finding, documentation, and project coordination skills are essential, with standby availability when needed.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• PSIRA certification or equivalent preferred.
• Valid Driver's license is required.
• Proven track record in electronics security installation.
• Clean disciplinary, criminal and credit record.
• Knowledge of access control, intrusion detection and IP surveillance systems.

Responsibilities

• Installation and maintenance of electronic security equipment.
• Regular communication and relationship development with clients.
• Attention to detail on all responsibilities.
• Adhering to client agreements and health and safety regulations.
• Provide feedback to SLA Manager.
• Problem solving and fault finding.
• Project management of small projects.
• Manage and control documentation, including registers and route sheets.
• Submit fault reports on the system.
• Review Work in Progress reports and their financial implications.
• Be available for standby when required.
• Maintain security equipment and documentation across sites.

Job description

The suitable candidate’s main responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Installation and Maintenance of Electronic Security Equipment;
2. Regular communication and development of a good relationship with client;
3. Attention to detail on all aspects of relevant responsibilities
4. Adhering to the Agreement between the client and the company;
5. Adhering to Health and Safety regulations;
6. Feedback to SLA Manager;
7. Problem Solving;
8. Project Management of small projects;
9. Management and Control of Documentation, including Registers, Overtime and Route Sheets;
10. Submission of fault reports on the system;
11. Revision of Work in Progress reports and the financial implications thereof;
12. Available to be on standby if and when required;

Preferred qualifications/attributes/skills:

1. Grade 12 or equivalent qualification;
2. PSIRA certification;
3. Valid Driver’s license;
4. Proven track record in the Electronics Security Industry;
5. Clean disciplinary, criminal and credit record;
6. Sound knowledge/experience and understanding of Access Control, Intrusion Detection and IP surveillance systems;
7. Strong network knowledge would be advantageous;
8. Relevant experience in SQL would be advantageous;
9. Relevant certification/experience on Avigilon;
10. Relevant certification/experience on Milestone
11. Relevant certification/experience on Prowatch:
12. Relevant certification/experience on Risco;
13. Relevant certification/experience on Fire systems (Ziton ZP2);
14. Relevant certification/experience on Gallager;
15. Excellent security equipment installation skills;
16. Excellent trouble shooting and fault-finding skills;
17. Excellent written & verbal communication and skills;
18. A good working knowledge of MS Office;
