Job summary

Bright City Talent in Germiston is seeking an experienced Technical Buyer to manage spare parts and components for yellow equipment and earthmoving machinery. You will source OEM, genuine, and aftermarket parts, ensuring uptime and cost effectiveness.

Requirements include at least 5 years in technical procurement, strong SAP experience, and proven vendor management; multi-brand exposure is advantageous. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Germiston.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in technical procurement focusing on mobile equipment and spare parts.
• Strong working knowledge of yellow equipment, earthmoving machinery, heavy mobile plant, trucks, and forklifts.
• Ability to evaluate and procure parts/components technically rather than relying blindly on catalogue descriptions.
• Proven hands-on experience in SAP or equivalent ERP environment.
• Core competencies: Technical negotiation, cross-functional stakeholder communication, vendor performance management, breakdown-response agility.

Responsibilities

• Spare Parts & Component Sourcing for OEM, genuine, and aftermarket parts.
• Maintenance & Service contracting and field-service coordination.
• Fleet support and equipment sourcing as needed.
• Inventory & ERP control, ensuring SAP reflects physical stock.
• Vendor & commercial management across local and international vendors.
• Compliance & technical traceability with spec sheets, photos, and VIN/make/model details.
