Job summary

Boardroom Appointments seeks a Technology / Domain Specialist to lead backend architecture for large-scale web apps. The role combines hands-on coding with design leadership across Node.js, Python, Go and other stacks.

You will collaborate with Product Management, Security and DevOps to drive the product roadmap, shaping architecture and delivery in a remote-first, globally distributed team. Strong communication and agile practices are essential.

Qualifications

• B-Degree in Computer Science or related technical field is required.
• 10+ years in a senior role designing and developing large-scale web applications.
• Expertise across Node.js, Python and Go backends, front-end coexistence and REST APIs.
• Experience with tests (Cypress, Jest) and CI/CD (Bitbucket Pipelines, Spinnaker).
• Proficient with SonarCloud, Cloudflare, Nx monorepos and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Hands-on with Docker, Kubernetes and low-latency messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Polyglot developer capable in .Net Core, Java/Spring Boot, Python, JS/NodeJS, NestJS, Nuxt.js.
• Strong architecture, design, agile delivery and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and architecture of large-scale backend applications using best practices for performance and availability.
• Be involved in all development phases, shaping design, planning, development, deployment and continuous delivery improvements.
• Partner with Backend Engineers, Product Management, DevOps/Infra and Security to advance the product roadmap.
