Qualifications

• NQF 8 qualification or Honours in Information Technology/Security Systems Management/Electronics Security Systems or related
• Proven leadership and management experience in security infrastructure
• Experience in financial or high-security environments
• Knowledge of governance, security incident management, relevant legislation and regulations, and SANS standards
• Budget management experience with a focus on operational efficiency
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership abilities

Responsibilities

• Lead the management, maintenance, and continuous improvement of physical and electronic security systems to ensure integrity, reliability, and readiness.
• Develop governance frameworks that ensure all security systems are operational and aligned with security objectives.
• Oversee proactive maintenance across all entities to minimize downtime and improve system availability.
• Maintain a comprehensive database of security system information, track anomalies, and coordinate resolutions of failures.
• Implement operational risk management strategies for electronic security infrastructure and mitigate vulnerabilities.
• Compile, analyze, and report security system performance metrics to support strategic decisions.
• Lead and develop a skilled security systems team, fostering continuous improvement and growth.
• Contribute to lifecycle analysis, research, and design processes for fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Manage the security department’s budgets and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

• Maintain a comprehensive database of security system information, track anomalies, and coordinate timely resolutions of system failures and maintenance needs.

• Implement operational risk management strategies for electronic security infrastructure, identifying vulnerabilities and mitigating potential threats.

• Compile, analyse, and report on security system performance metrics to support strategic decision-making and operational improvements.

• Lead and develop a skilled security systems team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and professional growth.

• Contribute to lifecycle analysis, research, and design processes to develop fit-for-purpose security solutions.

• Manage the security department’s capital and operational budgets, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.

Requirements:

• NQF 8 qualification/ Honours degree in Information Technology/Security Systems Management/Electronics Security Systems or related

• Proven leadership and management experience in security infrastructure, ideally within a financial or similar high-security environment.

• Strong skills in security incident management, security management, relevant legislation and regulations, electronic security systems, computer-based systems and SANS Standards.

• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement governance and risk mitigation frameworks.

• Budget management experience with a focus on operational efficiency.

• Excellent interpersonal skills to lead and empower teams effectively.
