Placements24 in Vereeniging seeks a Senior Systems Biologist to join our advanced research division. You will develop computational models, integrate multi-omics data, and validate predictions to inform therapeutic strategies.

The role requires a PhD and 6+ years in computational biology, with strong Python/R/MATLAB skills, ML and network analysis. You will collaborate with experimental teams and contribute to cutting-edge interdisciplinary projects.

Qualifications

PhD in Systems Biology, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Biophysics, or related quantitative field.
Minimum 6 years of experience developing and applying computational models to biological systems.
Strong programming proficiency (Python, R, MATLAB) and modeling software experience.
Deep knowledge of network analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques.

Responsibilities

Develop and apply computational models to analyze large-scale omics datasets (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics).
Integrate diverse data types to build comprehensive cellular and organismal system models.
Design and conduct computational experiments to test hypotheses and predict system behavior.
Collaborate with experimental biologists to guide experimental design and interpretation.
Develop and implement novel algorithms and software tools for systems biology research.
Communicate complex findings and model insights to diverse scientific audiences.
