Placements24 is seeking a Senior Subsea Engineer for a remote-first, global Oil & Gas project team. You will design, specify, and ensure the integrity of subsea production systems, collaborating with suppliers and clients to meet safety and performance targets.

You will lead field architecture design, conduct analyses, and ensure compliance with API/ISO standards while mentoring junior engineers and supporting procurement, fabrication, and installation activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of subsea field architecture, including wellheads, trees, manifolds, and associated pipelines.
• Prepare and review technical specifications, calculations, and design documents for subsea equipment and systems.
• Perform engineering analyses, including structural, thermal, and fluid dynamic assessments for subsea components.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., API, ISO).
• Manage technical aspects of procurement, fabrication, and installation of subsea hardware.
• Conduct technical evaluations of supplier proposals and vendor qualifications.
• Provide technical support during fabrication, testing, installation, and commissioning phases.Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with subsea system design and operation.
• Contribute to technology development initiatives and innovative subsea solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the growth of the subsea engineering discipline.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in subsea engineering within the Oil & Gas sector.
• In-depth knowledge of subsea production systems, including components, interfaces, and installation methodologies.
• Proven experience with subsea field layout design, flow assurance, and umbilical systems.
• Proficiency in relevant engineering software for design, analysis, and simulation.
• Strong understanding of offshore construction, installation, and commissioning processes.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making capabilities.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote setting.
• Demonstrated leadership potential and the ability to manage complex technical tasks.
• Experience working with major subsea equipment suppliers and offshore contractors is highly desirable.
