Job summary

Knight Piésold Southern Africa is seeking an experienced Structural Technologist/Technician to join our Structures team in Sandton. You will develop BIM models, produce construction drawings, and support civil and mining structure projects across Southern Africa.

The role requires a National Diploma, ECSA registration eligibility, 5+ years of civil/structural experience, and proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and PROKON/STRAP, with a valid SA driver’s license and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Registration with ECSA as Pr.Tech Eng or Pr.Techni Eng, or eligibility for registration.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience on civil/structural projects, preferably in a consulting environment.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, PROKON/STRAP and structural drafting principles.
• Valid South African driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining structural BIM models using Autodesk Revit.
• Producing detailed structural construction drawings, reinforcement detailing, layouts, and schedules.
• Preparing accurate engineering documentation in line with client requirements and quality standards.
• Supporting the design and delivery of civil and mining structures.
• Collaborating with engineers, project teams, clients, and contractors to ensure project delivery.
• Participating in project coordination meetings and assisting with planning to meet milestones.
• Conducting site inspections, verifying construction progress, preparing site reports, and identifying technical issues during construction.
