Qualifications

Job description

A Senior Structural Engineer is responsible for the planning, analysis, design, documentation, and technical delivery of structural engineering projects within a consulting engineering environment.

This position requires a technically competent and professionally registered engineer who can independently undertake structural engineering assignments, manage technical deliverables, liaise with clients and other professionals, and provide engineering solutions that comply with applicable legislation, codes, standards, and project requirements.

The incumbent will be expected to contribute to the successful delivery of projects from concept and preliminary design through detailed design, construction documentation, construction support, and project close-out.

Qualifications

• BSc / BEng in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from a recognised institution;
• Professional registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA);
• Ten (10) years' experience post-graduation within a consulting engineering environment:
• Experience managing structural engineering projects and technical deliverables;
• Experience working within a consulting engineering environment;
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary project teams;
• Experience with construction monitoring, inspections, and resolving technical site issues;
• Experience mentoring and reviewing the work of junior engineering staff;
