Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer for a contract role based in Kimberley, Northern Cape. You will lead structural design and analyses across diverse infrastructure and building projects, with independence and strong delivery focus.

This senior position requires significant expertise, with remote work options for certain tasks, and engagement with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in structural engineering design.
• Proficiency in SAP2000, ETABS and Revit Structure.
• Strong understanding of concrete, steel and masonry design principles.
• Familiarity with South African building codes and standards.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for building and infrastructure projects.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, calculations, and specifications.
• Review requirements to ensure designs meet building codes and standards.
• Collaborate with architects, project managers, and other engineering disciplines.
• Provide technical guidance and support to project teams.
• Conduct design reviews and ensure quality and integrity of structural designs.
• Prepare technical reports and design documentation.
• Manage project design tasks and milestones.
