Extensive experience gained over many years in the heavy industrial engineering and commercial engineering sectors, providing their engineering teams with the capabilities and reputation to perform asset upgrade and renewal, asset engineering, continuous improvement, and maintenance projects seamlessly in a high-risk environment.

Role Description: This is a full-time, in-office Structural Engineer role based in JHB. The Structural Engineer will be responsible for performing structural analyses and calculations for buildings, industrial and infrastructure projects, ensuring designs are safe, efficient, and compliant with relevant codes and standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and reviewing structural drawings and models using CAD software, coordinating with civil engineers, architects, and other project stakeholders, and providing technical input throughout the design and construction phases. The role also involves inspecting structures, preparing technical reports, and assisting with resolving design and site-related issues as they arise. The successful candidate will contribute to project planning, attend project meetings, and support continuous improvement of engineering processes and standards.

Qualifications And Experience

• Strong foundation in Structural Engineering design, with the ability to apply engineering principles to a variety of structures.
• Proficiency in Structural Analysis and Calculations to design safe, code-compliant, and cost-effective structural solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for preparing, reviewing, and updating structural drawings and models.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, professional registration (PR. Eng. non-negotiable)
• Knowledge of relevant building codes, standards, and construction practices, with the ability to interpret and apply them in design work.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and engaging with clients and contractors.
