Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti is seeking a Senior Specialist, Performance Reporting to join Group Management Accounting in Johannesburg. You will unify financial and operational data across ERP systems into clear, board-ready insights, supporting cost leadership through standardized reporting and robust data governance.

You will drive automation using SAP, TM1, HFM, WData, and Power BI, maintain cost-flex models, and partner with finance teams to deliver accurate monthly close outputs and timely executive

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of progressive finance experience in mining.
• Link KPIs to cash cost drivers with ERP integration.
• Ability to manage strict workflows and monthly closings.
• Professional qualification progression preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collate and format financial and operational data into monthly/quarterly reports for Exco/Board.
• Leverage SAP, TM1, HFM, and Power BI to automate data tasks and ETL routines.
• Maintain inflation-linked cost flex models and cost-driver tracking.
• Identify bottlenecks, automate reporting, and schedule distributions and data validation alerts.
• Conduct data validation to ensure accurate financial reporting.

OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

Supports a corporate cost-leadership culture by maintaining, executing, and enhancing standardized performance management reporting across the organization. Within the Group Management Accounting department, this role unifies complex financial and operational data from multiple ERP systems into actionable insights for executive leadership. Working within established frameworks, the role translates operational data into meaningful performance insights, maintains cost-flex models, and supports regional and corporate finance teams with clear, structured reporting outputs.

ROLEACCOUNTABILITIES

• Performance Reporting: Collate, reconcile, and format financial and operational data into standardized monthly and quarterly management reports for Exco and Board packs.
• Technology & Data Analytics: Leverage advanced systems (SAP, TM1, HFM, WData, Power BI) to automate repetitive data tasks, manage ETL routines, and maintain interface mapping tables.
• Cost Flex Modelling: Maintain and update the group’s inflation-linked flex models and cost-driver tracking schedules while running underlying cash cost variance analyses.
• Process Automation & Optimization: Identify data bottlenecks, eliminate manual reporting workarounds, and apply workflow tools to schedule automated report distributions and data validation alerts.
• Data Governance: Conduct rigorous data validation and structural quality checks to ensure strict numerical reconciliation and zero-defect financial reporting.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Data Analytics (BCom / BSc).
• Progress toward a professional qualification (CIMA, ACCA, CA(SA), or CPA) is highly preferred.
• PGDip Management - preferred

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• 5–7 years of progressive finance experience, including senior Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) or Finance Business Partnering (FBP) exposure within a mining environment.
• Mastery of complex datasets, financial acumen to link operational KPIs to cash cost drivers, deep database/ERP integration proficiency, and the ability to execute strict workflows under tight monthly closing deadlines.
