Job summary

Standard Bank Group in Johannesburg is seeking a software engineer to design, code, test, debug and maintain applications within a continuous delivery environment. You will produce software specifications aligned with the technical requirements and quality standards.

You’ll work with big data and cloud technologies on AWS (Athena, Lambda, CloudFormation, EMR, Spark) and perform advanced SQL with Oracle or Redshift.

Qualifications

• Design, code, test and correct programs within the SDLC and ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Experience with big data and cloud technologies on AWS, including Athena, Lambda, CloudFormation, EMR and Spark.
• Advanced SQL experience with Oracle and/or Redshift.

Business Segment: Insurance & Asset Management

To design, code, test, debug and correct programs in software engineering environments within the continuous delivery pipe line as well as provide support and maintenance of systems. In addition, produce software specifications in accordance with the technical requirements, within the framework of the software quality assurance standards.

Experience with big data and cloud technologies on AWS, including Amazon Athena, AWS Lambda, AWS CloudFormation, Amazon EMR, and Apache Spark.

Advanced SQL proficiency with hands‑on experience in Oracle and/or Amazon Redshift.
