Job summary

GEP is a leading procurement and supply chain solutions firm, offering consulting, software and managed services. This 9-month contractor role centers on supporting category managers, executing sourcing tasks and driving savings across the S2C program.

You will collaborate with vendors, establish negotiation levers, and contribute to supplier management processes while mentoring junior colleagues and participating in firm-building activities. Durban-based opportunity.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Supporting category managers withcategory strategy plans, sourcingexecution, supporting category planning and strategic sourcing tasks
• Establishing negotiation strategies,identifying and developing negotiation levers, validating them withstakeholders and leading negotiations to ensure savings, timely supply andother benefits for purchases, b usinessanalytics, savings reporting and tracking, stakeholder interaction as part ofthe S2C program
• Discussing with vendors andevaluating their products and capabilities as suppliers.
• Managing all supplier selection andprocurement activities (e.g. RFI, RFP, RFQ, Scorecard and Bid Analysis)
• Providing support with respect to SupplierManagement/ Procurement processes and policies.
• Demonstrating continuous effortim to improve operations, manage SOP’s, decrease turnaround times and streamline workprocesses.
• Identifying and communicating with a diverserange of stakeholders, such as suppliers, project sponsors, end-users and othersupporting functions such as HR, Legal and Finance.
• Recruitment & mentorship ofjunior colleagues.
• Participation in firm building activities.
• If managing direct materials – Execution ofoperational activities including Long term capacity planning, escalations inoperational service & quality issues, material resilience management, priceforecasting and business partnering.
• Accuratemaster data management to the required quality standards.
