Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of professional sound design and mixing.
• Expert proficiency in DAWs such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, or Cubase.
• Deep knowledge of mixing consoles, outboard gear and signal flow.
• Familiarity with 5.1/7.1/Dolby Atmos surround formats.
• Strong understanding of audio post-production for film, TV and games.
• Relevant degree or certification in Audio Engineering or Sound Design.

About the Role

Our client is a prestigious audio production house based in Tembisa, Gauteng , seeking an experienced and highly creative Senior Sound Designer & Mixer . This role is crucial for enhancing the auditory experience of diverse media projects, including film, television, and interactive gaming. The successful candidate will be responsible for crafting immersive soundscapes, designing unique sound effects, and delivering pristine audio mixes that elevate storytelling. You will collaborate with directors, composers, and other creative professionals to bring sonic visions to life. This position requires a deep understanding of acoustics, digital audio workstations, and the creative application of sound to evoke emotion and enhance engagement. Key Responsibilities

Design, create, and implement high-quality sound effects and ambiences for various media projects. Mix and master audio tracks to broadcast and theatrical standards, ensuring clarity, impact, and balance. Collaborate with directors and producers to define and achieve the desired sonic direction for each project. Operate and maintain state-of-the-art recording and mixing equipment and software. Source, edit, and organize sound libraries for efficient workflow. Conduct field recordings and Foley sessions as needed. Provide creative input and technical solutions for audio challenges. Manage multiple audio post-production schedules and deliverables effectively. Stay updated on the latest advancements in sound design and audio technology.

Requirements

A minimum of 6 years of experience in professional sound design and mixing, with a strong portfolio of completed projects. Expert proficiency in Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, or Cubase. Deep knowledge of mixing consoles, outboard gear, and signal flow. Experience with sound design tools and techniques, including synthesis, sampling, and audio manipulation. Familiarity with surround sound mixing formats (e.g., 5.1, 7.1, Dolby Atmos). Strong understanding of audio post-production workflows for film, TV, and games. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage deadlines effectively. Relevant degree or certification in Audio Engineering, Sound Design, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
