Key Responsibilities

Supervise and direct voice-over recording sessions, ensuring clear performances. Conduct field recordings to capture specific sounds required for projects. Operate and maintain state-of-the-art audio recording and mixing equipment. Collaborate with directors, editors, and composers to achieve the desired sonic vision. Manage audio post-production schedules and budgets effectively. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in audio technology and techniques. Ensure all audio deliverables meet industry standards and technical specifications for various platforms.

Requirements

Extensive experience as a Sound Designer and Audio Engineer in film, television, or game development. Proficiency in professional Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or Ableton Live. Expertise in audio editing, mixing, mastering, and sound synthesis. Strong understanding of acoustics, microphone techniques, and signal flow. Proven ability to create compelling and original sound effects. Experience with surround sound mixing (e.g., 5.1, 7.1, Dolby Atmos). Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced Cape Town environment. A degree in Sound Engineering, Music Technology, or a related field is advantageous.
