in South Africa seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to produce high-quality solar PV designs and technical outputs, ensuring client, regulatory and industry standards. You will lead design across utility-scale and commercial PV projects, perform PV sizing, SLDs, and grid connection studies, while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with civil, mechanical and grid stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level professional engineer degree in electrical engineering and registration with ECSA.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in solar PV design and engineering.
• Experience with utility-scale or C&I PV projects in SA.
• Proficiency with PV design software (PVSyst, Helioscope).
• Knowledge of Eskom and municipal grid connection processes.
• Familiarity with SANS, NRS, IEC standards and ISO 9001.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop utility-scale and commercial PV systems from concept to detailed design.
• Prepare SLDs, layouts, and plant documentation.
• Conduct grid studies and MV/LV integration analyses.
• Mentor junior engineers and interface with cross-disciplinary teams.
• Support tendering, EPC review, construction oversight and commissioning.
